The journey of POSEIDON officially begins

We are thrilled to announce the official launch of the POSEIDON project, a European doctoral network funded by the Horizon Europe program and supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme.

On the 21st and 22nd of March, we held our kickoff meeting at the The ICC Birmingham, marking the beginning of an ambitious journey towards enhancing the resilience of offshore infrastructure against geohazards in the face of climate change.

The POSEIDON project aims to unite the forces of doctoral candidates, principal investigators, and industrial partners across Europe to tackle one of the most pressing challenges of our times: climate change and its impact on offshore infrastructure. By hiring 13 Doctoral Candidates, POSEIDON is setting the stage for groundbreaking research and innovation.

Our mission is clear: to identify, map, assess, and predict offshore geohazards, equipping a new generation of researchers with the necessary tools to safeguard and strengthen our vital offshore infrastructure. Through collaboration among universities, research institutions, industry partners, and government bodies, we are dedicated to finding innovative solutions that promote resilience and adaptability.

The kickoff meeting was not only a platform to align our objectives and goals but also a testament to the power of collaboration and shared vision. As we move forward, we are confident that the POSEIDON project will make significant strides in our fight against climate change and its impact on geohazards.
