POSEIDON’s Second Training Event!

Half a year has passed since POSEIDON’s first training event, and we were all eager to meet again, update the consortium about our work, and get some much needed boost of motivation.

Hosted at NGI, the second training and networking event was packed with difficult questions leading to insightful discussions. It gave our DCs the opportunity to reflect on their past six months, set forth goals and milestones for months ahead and receive from their supervisors as well as thesis monitoring committees.

Also part of the event was a day of participation in the ISGSR 2025 conference, where we also got a chance to cheer our own Mathilde as she presented her work on Probalistic assessment of monopile foundations considering model uncertainty using Tobit regression!

Additionally, we had a very interesting discussion panel on “Sources of uncertainty in submarine landslides: impacts on Offshore Wind Infrastructure (OWI) and other offshore structures” moderated by our coordinator Vanessa Magnanimo, and having as panelists

Dr. Shengjie Rui gave tips to the DCs on scientific writing.

Many thanks to the folks at NGI for providing all of us with a tour of the lab!

Thomas Vestgården from NGI kindly gave POSEIDON a tour of the lab.

We are grateful to all beneficiaries, associated partners, and members of the External Advisory Board, who joined online and offline, for their presence, input, and participation!

With another successful event behind us, we are now looking forward to coming together in Brest, hosted by IFREMER, in April 2026. Until then, get to know our DCs!
